A three-year-old sales and distribution agreement between PepsiCo and Ocean Spray has been extended to include more flavors of Ocean Spray juices. - Chicago Transit Authority expands Coca-Cola Enterprises deal
The Chicago Transit Authority is expected to reap more than $1.4 million over five years by extending its vending-machine agreement with Coca-Cola Enterprises. Coca-Cola already has 271 vending machines on transit authority property, and might add more, including ones that accept debit and credit cards. Chicago Tribune

An invitation-only festival celebrating Fair Trade ingredients, called Eat, Drink and Be Fair, was organized and hosted by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters of Vermont. - Coffee berries perk up beverage line
A company called BAI Brands is making and marketing health and energy drinks with coffee berries, the antioxidant-rich but bitter fruit that surrounds coffee beans and is usually discarded. Company founder Ben Weiss combines the coffee berries with fruit flavors and organic cane sugar to offer beverages in three varieties: Tanzania Strawberry, Mango Kauai and Jamaica Blue Berry. - Coffee seen as fighting advance of liver disease
Drinking three or more cups of coffee daily may prevent the progression of advanced liver disease and chronic hepatitis C, a study found. "We observed an inverse association between coffee intake and liver disease progression," said researchers, who noted that people who drank three or more cups a day were 53% less likely to experience disease progression than subjects who drank no coffee. The California Milk Processor Board and agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners have created a 20-minute faux rock opera starring glam rocker White Gold, who must retrieve milk stolen by villain Nasterious. The movie can be seen at Milkquarious.com, and is being promoted via TV commercials and a competition asking California students to create a visual parody of the rock opera. - Food safety bill has support of industry, consumer groups
A bill that would give the Food and Drug Administration more power to oversee the nation's food supply has bipartisan support, as well as approval from consumer and industry groups tired of costly and dangerous product recalls. The law would require more food facility inspections and would give the FDA power to recall products by itself. Los Angeles Times
