Onyx Pharmaceuticals to take over Proteolix
Onyx Pharmaceuticals agreed to pay $276 million in cash to acquire Proteolix, including its proteasome inhibitor carfilzomib, which is in an advanced Phase IIb trial for patients with relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma. Read the release.

The MMRF will honor Hoda Kotb, co-anchor of "Today" and "NBC Dateline" correspondent, with the Spirit of Hope Award at the 13th Annual MMRF Fall Gala. Boomer Esiason, former NFL quarterback and "NFL Today" analyst, will deliver the evening's keynote address, and Scott Hamilton, American figure skater and Olympic gold medalist, will serve as Master of Ceremonies. The Fall Gala, on Sat., Oct. 24, at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich, Conn., will advance the MMRFs innovative research portfolio.
