- Tainted eggs are linked to contaminated chicken feed
Contaminated chicken feed appears to have caused the salmonella illnesses that led to the massive nationwide egg recall. The feed was sent to only Wright County Egg and Hillandale Farms in Iowa, according to an FDA official, who also said, "We don't know if the feeding ingredients came to the facility contaminated or if the feed got contaminated at the facility."
