- Outdoor Channel extends distribution with Time Warner Cable
Time Warner Cable and the Outdoor Channel have renewed a multiyear-distribution agreement that includes the network's standard and high-definition feeds as well as video-on-demand offerings. The Outdoor Channel currently is available in 30 million homes, about 9 million of which take the high-definition feed. Multichannel News

- "River Monsters" scares up record-setting crowd
Animal Planet attracted a record-setting 1.3 million viewers to Sunday night's debut of "River Monsters," including 647,000 in the targeted 25-to-54 demographic group. The episode was the most-watched premiere in Animal Planet's history and pulled in more viewers than any other regularly airing prime-time telecast on the network in more than six years. Nickelodeon has added a pair of live-action buddy comedies to its production slate. - Nielsen: Nearly 4 million remain unprepared for DTV switch
The latest figures show that nearly 4 million TV households -- 3.8 million to be exact -- remain completely unprepared for the switch to all-digital TV signals June 12. Nielsen Media Research said about 610,000 homes became ready during March, but that the rate of preparedness slowed dramatically during the last two weeks of that month. TVWeek.com

- Turner hires Attributor to track online video consumption
Turner Broadcasting System has hired Attributor, of Redwood City, Calif., to track how, when and where the cable company's content is being used on the Web. "The wider online audience consumes content in a huge variety of places and contexts, and it is important to us to have comprehensive and comprehensible information about this," said Scott Teissler, Turner's chief technology officer.
