The 27th annual American Association of Colleges of Nursing survey of nursing school enrollment and graduation rates shows that while more nurses are enrolling in baccalaureate programs, these programs are unable to expand their capacity, largely due to a lack of qualified faculty members. The group says shortages could impact nurse education -- and therefore patient care -- and suggests schools, hospitals, the government and business collaborate on programs to increase nurse faculty numbers.
