- NAB wants "Radio Heard Here"
NAB at its convention in Las Vegas kicked off "Radio Heard Here," a multimillion-dollar ad campaign aimed at bolstering radio's appeal to listeners in the key 18-to-24 and 25-to-34 demographics. - Rehr presents vision for broadcasting's digital future
Broadcasting is set to embark on a new era of growth as it helps lead viewers through next year's digital transition, NAB President-CEO David Rehr said in his keynote opening address at the NAB Show in Las Vegas. "We will leave no TV set behind" Rehr said. Rehr also talked about the "romance" between listeners and radio, saying: "If you're listening to radio, you want to hear a human voice sharing that same moment in time that you are. - Hulu CEO: Satisfying users is key to video site's success
The future of Hulu, the NBC Universal-News Corp joint video site, could include mobile and other new media extensions, according to Hulu CEO Jason Kilar. Whatever direction the site takes, it will continue to place emphasis on ensuring an easy and enjoyable user experience, Kilar said during his keynote address at the NAB Show. - TV broadcasters look to mobile technology
The extension of television broadcasts to mobile devices has the potential of broadening the reach of the medium by more than 400 million to 500 million screens, according to Open Mobile Video Coalition President Brandon Burgess. - New technology to make HD Radio upgrades less expensive
"Embedded Exporter" is a new tool that was unveiled at the NAB Show that's designed to help cut stations' technology cost in converting to HD Radio. The technology is a joint effort of NAB, iBiquity Digital and HD Radio manufacturers BE, Continental, Harris and Nautel.
