- Experts debate cloud use in universities
Last week's Educause conference featured a debate between Melissa Woo, director of cyberinfrastructure at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Michael Dieckmann, chief information officer at the University of West Florida, about the need for cloud computing in higher education. - Cybersecurity Awareness Act to prompt NIST for new standards
The House of Representatives' Subcommittee on Technology and Innovation voted earlier this month in favor of a bill directing the National Institute of Standards and Technology to create a road map for federal compliance with international cybersecurity protocols.
