- FDA gives priority review to Velcade application
The FDA has granted priority review status to Millennium: The Takeda Oncology Company for its supplemental new drug application for Velcade, which includes long-term overall survival data from the VISTA trial examining the use of Velcade-based therapy in patients with previously untreated multiple myeloma. Amgen has positive results from Phase III trial of denosumab
Amgen announced results from a Phase III trial of denosumab in advanced cancer patients with multiple myeloma or solid tumors that showed the drug delayed the median time to first on-study skeletal related event by 4.3 months. Read the release.

The MMRF will honor Hoda Kotb, co-anchor of "Today" and "NBC Dateline" correspondent, with the Spirit of Hope Award at the 13th Annual MMRF Fall Gala. Boomer Esiason, former NFL quarterback and "NFL Today" analyst, will deliver the evening's keynote address, and Scott Hamilton, American figure skater and Olympic gold medalist, will serve as Master of Ceremonies. The MMRF Marathon/Half Marathon Program has just released its slate of marathons and half marathons for 2010. We've added many races in a variety of locations, including the Boston Marathon.
